Kjættingfabriken founded at Magnor

From Pittsburgh to Magnor

Kjættingfabriken AS, with the FRAM brand, was founded in 1909 by Oscar Wilhelm Spilhaug. While in the USA he happened to see chain-making machines through the factory windows of McKay one Sunday in Pittsburgh.

In the summer of 1908 he travelled around Eastern Norway looking for hydropower. The company was founded at Magnor by the Swedish border on 27 January 1909. In 2019 FRAM became part of Nøsted &.

Let's build a lasting connection.
